They've been around for more than 50 years, and their claim to fame is that they are a mechanical watch producer that designs and makes 100% of their movements in-house. But for the price, I can't complain. There are so many shiny surfaces on the watch, even the inlaid markers and silver trim around the crystal just sparkles. I put it on a leather strap, and it makes an excellent dress watch. It looks so nice, you probably won't want to mess it up by actually diving with this. The automatic mechanism is keeping deadly accurate time. I have some dive watches worth over $1000, and this is an unbelievable bang for your buck. I'm very happy with it, and it's a keeper for me. So far, I am impressed with the quality as well as the design of the watch. As stated, I was looking to repair or replace my Invicta and, as I only paid $70 for the Invicta, repair is not cost effective. The Orient has a look all its own rather than being a copy of Rolex (not that the Rolex isn't worthy of being copied). The Orient has a nice feel (weight) to it and the face is slightly larger. So far, the accuracy is very acceptable (have only had about 1-1/2 weeks). Based on other reviews and research, I felt this was way to go and I am very happy with that decision. Other reviewers do state that there is no luminous dot at 60 min on rotating bezel. While this is true, I have always found a way to dislodge the luminous dot anyway and do not miss it for that reason.
