What attracted me was the Swiss quartz movement and the beautiful watch dial. Stuhrling is an unusual company. It was started by a Swiss gentleman whose family had been in the watch movement business for years. They had started a plant in Hong Kong to take advantage of the cheap labor costs. They brought over all the important machinery from Switzerland and claim that they trained their Chinese labor force to Swiss standards. Most of the cases and faces of the Stuhrling watches are made in China. They then will frequently put a Swiss movement in it, although most of the mechanical automatic movements in their watches are probably Chinese (e.g.-Hangzhou or Sea Gull). I haven't checked them all out. Don't think that all Chinese movements are junk. Seagull, in particular, makes some good mechanical movements. The square face is unique and the back of it is ever so slightly shaped to lay on your wrist comfortably. The offset rose gold heart sprinkled with pave diamond dust is lovely, and there is a pretty ingrained design on the face. It adds some feminine sparkle and shine. It is not a heavy diamond presence, so keep this in mind. The numbers and hands are also the rose color. As I don't wear oversized boyfriend watches, this face is just over an inch wide. Still bigger than many watch faces, but not too big or small. The band is about 5/8" and nice dark brown lizard. I'm still not sure if I can change the watch band...there are tiny screws on each side and I don't know yet if they're decorative. I have an avg. wrist. You'll be surprised to find a tiny magnifier in a heart shape over the minuscule date window, and you must do the usual winding to set the date. Love this, thanks Amazon!
